Due to high levels of bacterial growth in Carter’s Pond water source, our office has been notified that all residents of Newtown have been placed under a Boil water Advisory until further notice. Residents are advised to bring water that you might ingest to a rigorous boil for 1 minute. If you know people in the area who have no access so social media or are not set up under our voice messaging service, we ask that you please contact them to advise of the boil order. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Starting 8:30a.m. there will be a scheduled water shut down in Newtown on Monday, August 9th, 2021. Residents can expect water to be off all day. This will affect residents and businesses from the Newtown Post Office to Peter Halls House. This includes East Drive, Hunter’s Lane, Sea Lane & Church Lane. This shut down is necessary to make the water connection across the new bridge. In addition, the road where the bridge is located will be closed while work is being performed. We apologize for this inconvenience.
With extended periods of dry weather, The Town of New-Wes-Valley would like to remind residents of the importance of the water conservation measures. While our water supply may seem endless the operators have noticed a decline in water levels. That coupled with the ongoing warm temperatures and lack of rain has caused this notice. As a result we are asking residents to conserve water to prevent further decline. Lawn and garden watering with automatic sprinklers can place high and unpredictable demand on the distribution system. Therefore, the use of sprinklers is restricted to the hours of 5:00 a.m. – 8:00
